Easiest way to connect to a network in terminal, i test it in a several linux distributions, and always work, actually is not a big thing, is really easy use this tool, normally i included in the OS, but you can install by yum or apt.
I use this tool for my raspberry pi, orange pi, or any IoT device, because normally the operative system by default is something based on Debian, so you can try this.
The tool is named (N)etwork (M)anager – (T)ext (U)ser (I)nterface, and the command is:
nmtui-connect
La manera mas sencilla de conectarte a una red desde la terminal, probé esto en varias distribuciones de linux, y siempre me funciono, de hecho si no la tienes instalada por algún motivo, puede usar el yum o apt, según tu distribución.
Uso este comando normalmente para mis dispositivos IoT, como mi raspberry pi, orange pi, y otros, por que normalmente estos dispositivos incluyen alguna distribución basada en Debian, osea que puedes intentarlo.
